We call on Nigerians to join a wazapp platform for discussion on the current lobby to engage the Nigerian government in a deportation collaboration with Germany.

A visiting Nigerian delegation will this week meet with key actors of the German deportation regime to discuss strategies that will facilitate massive deportation of Nigerians. The meeting will be focused on increasing deportations to ignore realities on ground. With the Nigerian authorities like the National Commission for Refugees has always claimed to have existing structures of supporting deported migrants upon arrival. However, testimonies from many deported persons confirms that as far from the truth. The support system described by the officials simply do not exist in practice. Deportees are often left stranded without meaningful assistance like accommodation, employment, healthcare, or social reintegration.

Please take time to watch this interview on what really happens after people are deported. Deported persons as well as Duldung Holders or persons coerced into voluntary returns are encouraged to make comment and share their personal experience on this situation.
